Çiğdem y Mirol has developed “bookperformance” as an artistic and literary concept as well as a world-view. As a writer and performance artist, she challenges the body and the sound of a textual self that transforms itself into the sound and body of an actual self through visual and musical dynamics. Thus, she does "bookperformance"s to the creative process of which readers of all kinds are all-ways invited.

Çiğdem’s experience in academia, journalism, theatre, visual arts, psychology, teaching, translation and readership not only laid the fundamental values of the concept as well as “The Weird & The Absurd” philosophy behind it but also contributed to the notion of “transparency” in it.

Apart from writing her books, which are accompanied by her own drawings, in a performative way and transferring them to the readers through performances, Çiğdem is giving sessions on creative writing, thinking, reading based on the “bookperformance” concept.
