Katrin Rux (1982, Zwickau - DE) is a German performance artist and writer. She studied Art and Theology for Teaching at Bauhaus University Weimar and University of Arts Burg Giebichenstein Halle (Saale).                                                                                        Her thesis entitled Im Präsenzraum is focused on the relationship generated in between the viewer and the art work.

Rux’s artistic work is based on her own literature works for her lectures. She works together with sound artists to create new listening spaces for the audience. The feelings which are evoked in between the work and the listener is of importance for her practice of art. This interest is what actually connects her to Cigdem y Mirol’s work. They met in May 2015 in Venice, where they started to perform together in the context of Venice Performance Art Week at C32 Forthe Marghera.

Katrin: To be “the transparent” (translator) of MyFace Book is an interesting experience for me. Thanks to the several languages and the idea of “transparency” the text changes its face in various ways. I am fascinated with the idea of witnessing the text as a growing body. The working process of “transparenting” the text might sometimes not be perfect but it is focused on the passion that is shared by “the beloved author” and “the beloved reader”.
